PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful manufacturing method of a metal supported catalyst which is of such a structure that a nano-level microcatalytic metal is borne by a carrier such as an active carbon, in a stable and highly concentrated state and stably and shows an excellent catalytic activity as, for example, an electrode catalyst for a polymer electrolyte-type fuel cell.
SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises (1) the process of dissolving a non-chlorine-based compound of the catalytic metal into a polyhydric alcohol-containing solvent, (2) the process of obtaining a colloidal dispersion by making the solution alkaline and thermally stirring it at 125°C or below, (3) the process of adding carrier powder to the colloidal dispersion and thermally stir it at 145°C or above after heating it up, (4) the process of cooling the dispersion after thermal stirring and add an acid to turn the liquid quality of the dispersion acidic, (5) the process of separating the obtained acid dispersion into a solid and a liquid state and obtain the carrier powder borne by the catalytic metal. These processes are performed successively to manufacture the metal supported catalyst.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
