PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of preventing clogging of a lug groove by dirt in a tire with a block pattern, or efficiently discharging the dirt. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire is provided with a lateral groove 2 opened to a grounding end in the tire width direction. In the groove depth of the lateral groove 2, a projection 3 extending along the lateral groove direction is provided. In the tire front view, the tire has a block pattern in which the projection 3 has its starting point on the center C side relative to the grounding end T, and has its end point beyond and outside the grounding end T.
