PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for a building capable of certainly preventing any attack on wood and/or eating wood by termites thereby reducing a cost required for controlling the termites. SOLUTION: In an anti-termite structure for a building capable of protecting it from an attack and/or eating wood members by termites, a sill 2 is laid on a footing 1 of the building; and a column member 6 is erected through a metallic connecting member 4 having a resistance against being eaten by termites. In this case, a tenon member 5 projected out from a bottom face of the column member 6 is inserted to a mortise 43 provided at a top face of the metallic connecting member 4 thereby connecting together both the column member and the connecting member by inserting the tenon member 5 projected from a bottom face of the column member 6 into a mortise 43 made on an upper face of the connecting member.
