PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can satisfy both speed-up of image formation and image formation of a high image quality, and to provide a recording method. SOLUTION: The recorder has a full-line recording head wherein a plurality of recording element arrays are arranged in parallel within the same recording head chip. The full-line recording head controls a distribution ratio of recording data to be at least different at an overlapping part where ends of the recording element arrays overlap with each other.
