An apparatus and a method for simultaneously recording and reproducing streaming contents are provided to search reproducing position by dividing content stream into predetermined storage units. An apparatus for simultaneously recording and reproducing streaming contents comprises a recording device(110), and a reproducer. The recording device divides content stream into predetermined storage units and stores the content stream with an index corresponding to each storage unit, where the storage unit is a predetermined time period having predetermined length and a chapter displayed by the meta-data included in the content stream. The reproducer reproduces the storage unit corresponding to the input index when the index is input.
