<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium for recording and reproducing while confirimg recording positions in a thickness direction and a surface direction of the recording medium, to provide a servo signal detecting method using the same and to provide an information recording and reproducing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The recording medium 1 has a double-layer structure, wherein one is a recording layer 2 and the other is an alignment layer 3. A hologram 5 for alignment including position information is formed in the alignment layer 3. When the recording position is changed in the recording layer 2, a wave front of signal light made incident in the alignment layer 3 is also changed. The signal light different according to the recording position serves as the position information in the thickness direction of the recording medium 1 and the different wave fronts are multiplex-recorded in the alignment layer 3 to form the hologram 5 for alignment including the position information in the thickness direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
