<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information detecting device capable of speeding up a reading processing. <P>SOLUTION: The information detecting device 10 for reading information from an image in which information is embedded with a two-dimensional code representing the information with a fine ground tint pattern includes a density difference measuring part 201 for measuring density difference in a minute area unit on inputted image content, a processing area dividing part 203 for dividing an image from a distribution of density differences to reading processing areas being a reading processing unit, a processing order determining part 204 for determining a processing order of the reading processing areas from the distribution of the density differences, and an information reading part 103 for sequentially reading information from a single or a plurality of reading processing areas according to the processing order determined by the processing order determining part. When succeeding in reading the information, reading processing is finished without performing reading processing from reading processing areas in which no remaining reading processing is performed.
