<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathroom illumination device enabled to also be used as an operating unit main body to save cost, and capable of changing a lighting fixture as an object for automatic control of a control unit into a more suitable lighting state. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes a first main lighting fixture 2 with a light control function, a second main lighting fixture 3 without a light control function, and one or more kinds of auxiliary lighting fixtures. Only either the first main lighting fixture 2 or the second main lighting fixture 3 is selected as a main lighting fixture to be installed in the bathroom 1. Name plates 19 of the operating unit are prepared by as many as the number of combinations of the main lighting fixtures and auxiliary lighting fixtures. Each name plate 19 includes an operating button 20 corresponding to either of a plurality of switches provided at the operating unit main body 18. The name plates 19 corresponding to the main lighting fixtures and the auxiliary lighting fixtures installed in the bathroom 1 are mounted on the operating unit main body 18 to constitute the operating unit. The control unit 14 includes a plurality of control modes corresponding to each name plate 19.
