<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality and to easily control transfer voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic printer is equipped with: an image carrier; an electrifying means; an image writing means; a developing device; a transfer roller 17 disposed in contact with the image carrier so as to form a transfer part between the image carrier and the transfer roller 17, and transferring a developer image on the image carrier to a printing medium by application of voltage having a positive polarity; a printing medium deflection means disposed on an upstream side from the transfer part in a conveying direction of the printing medium and deflecting the printing medium to the image carrier side; and a discharging means eliminating charge having a negative polarity on the surface of the image carrier at a position where the printing medium comes into contact with the image carrier on the upstream side from the transfer part and on a downstream side from the printing medium deflection means in the conveying direction of the printing medium. Since the printing medium comes into contact with the image carrier before it reaches the transfer part, the developer is prevented from being scattered in the air. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
