<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming body which is given a high-degree effect of forgery prevention by embossing, and also excellent in designedness and decorativeness, enables mechanical (optical) reading after the use and is used for preventing forgery and duplication by a color copy, a scanner or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Patterns 1a(1), 1a(1') and 1a(2) composed of indentations prepared by embossing are formed on a base material of paper or others in an area of the image forming body.
