PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improving agent of indigenous bacterial flora in skin without showing bacteriostatic activity to Staphylococcus epidermidis which is a skin useful bacterium, and showing bacteriostasis or proliferation inhibitory effect to Staphylococcus aureus or Pseudomonas aerginosa which is a harmful bacterium, in the fields of cosmetics, quasi-drugs and medicines. SOLUTION: This improving agent of the indigenous bacterial flora in the skin contains water-soluble saccharides obtained byβ-bonding a multiple number of saccharides. The preferable example of the water-soluble saccharides is obtained by theβ-1-4 glucose bonding of glucose, and is a cello-oligosaccharide having≥60 mass% cellobiose content, and 0.1 to 40 mass% content of≥1 kind selected from cellotriose, cellotetraose, cellopentaose and cellohexaose.
