<p>The method involves transferring at least one additional coding and decoding algorithm to the mobile telephone (1) over a data communications connection established between the mobile telephone and the network (8). The algorithm is received and stored in a non-volatile memory (4,5) and used for data conversion after implementation. The transferred algorithm can be selected as an alternative to the existing algorithm. Independent claims are also included for the following: a mobile telephone with at least one coding and decoding algorithm for converting analog speech data into digital data.</p> |
