An apparatus and a method for displaying caller information in a portable terminal are provided to save a user the trouble of appointing and storing image data in storing a phone number by displaying many image data in a slide method in the case of displaying caller information as a call is received. An apparatus for displaying caller information in a portable terminal comprises a camera part(140), a control part(100), a memory part(130) and a display part(160). The camera part(140) photographs image data. If photographed image data are stored, the control part(100) obtains phonebook data having the file name of the stored image data from the phonebook and links the obtained phonebook data with the image data. If a call is received, the control part(100) controls the display part(160) to display caller information corresponding to the received call and at least one image data linked with phonebook data equivalent to the caller information at the same time. The memory part(130) stores the photographed image data and the phonebook. The display part(160) displays the caller information and at least one image data equivalent to the caller information according to the control of the control part(100).
