<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for controlling a synchronous motor wherein rotational pulsation due to individual variation can be suppressed without complicating a control algorithm. <P>SOLUTION: A motor drive system as a control device for synchronous motors is provided with a controller 2. To suppress pulsating components N times an alternating-current frequency for driving a synchronous motor 5, the controller is so constructed that the phase characteristic of the disturbance response of the controller to this pulsation frequency falls within ±45 degrees.
