PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage processing unit that improves drying performance and reduces a cost. SOLUTION: The unit is provided with a metal heat-transfer vessel 21, a heating means 32 that heats the vessel 21, a detachable resin-made processing vessel 24 that is closely adhered to an internal surface of the vessel 21, a ventilation means 35 that ventilates the vessel 24, and a stirring means 26 that stirs a garbage 25 provided on the bottom of the vessel 24. This allows the means 32 to heat the vessel 21 by heat-transfer or radiation, and the vessel 21 to elevate the vessel 24 to a high temperature because the vessel 21 is formed of metal and is thermally conductive, thus the almost entire vessel 21 becomes at a high temperature. Next, the garbage 25 is heated by the vessel 24, and is dried while it is being stirred by the means 26. Particularly, because the garbage 25 is directly heated by the vessel 24, heating efficiency to the garbage 25 is improved, thereby enabling the system to improve drying a performance and reduce the cost.
