PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backrest connecting structure for achieving a good inserting condition of an inserting part to an inserted part, and for improving an assembly strength between the inserting part and inserted part. SOLUTION: The backrest 4 has the inserting parts X made of resin so as to extend diagonally forward. A seat 3 is provided with the inserted parts Y made of metal so as to extend diagonally backward and to allow the inserting parts X to be inserted. Each inserting part X includes an inserting part body X1 and a projection X2 formed so that at least the height or the width is gradually decreased forward from the end of the inserting part body X1. Each inserted part Y includes an inserted part body Y1 and a recess Y2 allowing the projection to be inserted. An engaging means C is provided between the inserting part X and the inserted part Y for engaging the inserting and inserted parts X and Y so as not to allow relative displacement in an inserted condition.
