PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upright vacuum cleaner for which both of a structure with a cord reel and a structure without a cord reel can be manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: By making the cord reel 3 independent of a cleaner main body 2 without the cord reel 3 attachable and detachable to/from the cleaner main body 2, the cleaner main body 2 can be used commonly for the upright vacuum cleaner 1 with the cord reel 3 and the upright vacuum cleaner 24 without the cord reel 3. Also, even when the specifications of a primary side power cord 18 to be wound around the cord reel 3 and a power plug 20 are different, by changing the cord reel 3, the cleaner main body 2 can be used commonly.
