PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce the occurrence of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) by detecting prone sleeping, abnormality of an infant's body temperature and abnormality of an ambient temperature around the infant. SOLUTION: This monitoring apparatus is provided with a function for capturing the image of an infant and acquiring moving image information, a function for detecting the infant's body temperature, and a function for detecting the ambient temperature around the infant. When either one of a first determination circuit for analyzing the moving image information and, when the infant lies prone, determining it as abnormality, a second determination circuit, when the body temperature of the infant exceeds a first threshold, determining it as abnormality, or a third determination circuit, when the room temperature exceeds a second threshold, determining it as abnormality, determines abnormality, an emergency signal and first and second monitoring information signals are output to a computer apparatus and a PHS. The computer apparatus and the PHS output alarm sounds respectively, demodulate monitoring information signals and acquire monitoring information, and displays the moving image of the infant based on moving image information, body temperature information and ambient temperature information and numerically expresses the body temperature and ambient temperature.
