An indicator for estrus initiation is provided to identify easily when a female animal is sexually excited. An indicator for identifying estrus of a female animal comprises: a pressure detecting portion(121) which detects the physical pressurization state and generates a pressure detection signal; a luminescence portion(131) which emits light in accordance with a luminescent action signal from a controlling portion(151); the controlling portion which receives the pressure detection signal, generates the luminescent action signal when the pressure detection signal is received continuously for 3-10 seconds and transmits the luminescent action signal to the luminescence portion; and a power source portion(141) which supplies power source required for operating the components. The components of the indicator is contained at an inner space of a case including an adhesive portion(101) and a protecting cover(102) and the case is adhered to a hip of the female animal through an adhesive agent(104).
