PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refolding by which a high-purity protein having a relatively large molecular weight can be produced with good productivity without greatly diluting the high-purity protein. SOLUTION: The method for refolding is carried out as follows. A protein is initially treated with an aggregation inhibitor (A) and then subsequently treated with a refolding agent (B) composed of a compound (B1) having a group represented by general formula (1) and/or a compound (B2) having an oxycarbonyl group in the method for refolding the unfolded protein.
