Rotating drive shaft ( 11 ) is connected to a crankshaft and valve cam ( 13 ). Valve cam ( 13 ) lifts intake and exhaust valves, are linked by a plurality of links ( 16 - 18 ). The amount of lift of intake and exhaust valves is adjusted by adjusting the position of connector pin ( 22 ), which passes through links ( 16 ) and ( 18 ) and allows for their relative rotation. The adjustment of connector pin ( 22 ) is configured so that it is performed from single adjustment direction ( 34 ) using prescribed adjustment tools ( 41 ) and ( 42 ).
