The ceramic bodies (20,26) has flow channel (22) which is provided with a catalytic coating and conducted by the exhaust gas (28).The flow channel is provided with a turbulence producing unit which produces a turbulent flow in sections.The turbulence producing unit is realized by cross sectional geometry changing in longitudinal direction of the flow channel.
