<p>A computer system having a function of pivoting a monitor, and a method sensing rotation by using the same are provided to sense a rotational angle of a monitor definitely according to a change of voltage in a variable resistor installed at a stand of the monitor, and to reduce possibility of failure occurrence in accordance with wrong operation. A computer system comprises a monitor(100) and a computer(200). The monitor(100) provides a change of voltage, checked at a variable resistor installed at a pivot stand, for the computer(200), and displays image data inputted by the computer(200). The computer(200) senses the rotation of the monitor(100) by using a signal for the change of voltage provided by the monitor(100), reconfigures corresponding image data by the unit of frame, and outputs the image data to the monitor(100). The monitor(100) includes a variable resistor(120) whose resistance value changes according as a pivot stand rotates, a voltage output unit which outputs corresponding voltage according to the resistance value of the variable resistor(120), and a controller(110) which transmits the voltage value to the computer(200). The computer(200) includes a memory(220) which stores a rotation recognition value for recognizing the rotation of the monitor(100), an image data generator(230) which generates the image data for enabling the image data to be displayed on the monitor, and a controller which recognizes the rotational angle of the monitor(100) by using the voltage value and senses whether the monitor rotates.</p> |
