<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new thin film Si solar cell regarding a photovoltaic (PV) apparatus including a silicon (Si) nano-wire as an active PV element. <P>SOLUTION: This photovoltaic (PV) apparatus 100 includes the following (a) to (e). (a) A plurality of Si nano-wires provided in a substantially vertical orientation on a substrate and having a first type doping, (b) a first conformal Si layer provided on the plurality of Si nano-wires for effectively absorbing light, (c) a second conformal Si layer conformably provided on the first conformal Si layer, and having a second type doping, (d) a conductive material layer provided on the second conformal Si layer, and (e) an upper contact point and a lower contact point for connecting the apparatus to an external circuit, namely the lower contact point in contact with a plurality nano-wires electrically and an upper contact point in contact with the second conformal Si layer electrically. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
