PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical instrument wherein frictional force between an elastic body and a member on the other side is changed due to the shape difference in the elastic member, thereby having improved operation feeling. SOLUTION: The optical instrument (1) includes: a first member (20); a second member (10) disposed so that it can move relatively to the first member; optical systems (L1, L3 and L4) that are operated with the relative movement of the first member and the second member; and the elastic member (92) disposed in one of the first member and the second member, and also, that can come in contact with the other member, that includes an asymmetrical shape in the relative movement direction in terms of the cross sectional shape thereof along the relative movement direction.
