PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic fluid bearing capable of being stably operated, and to provide a HDD swing arm device equipped therewith. SOLUTION: The magnetic fluid bearing 1 comprises a shaft 2, a hollow sleeve 3, and magnetic fluid 9. The shaft 2 has a cylindrical shaft body 11, an upper end face and a lower end face extending vertically from the shaft body 11, and a protruded portion 5 formed integrally with the shaft body 11. The sleeve 3 is rotatably arranged on the outer periphery of the shaft 2 and has a recessed portion 7 opposed to the protruded portion 5. The magnetic fluid 9 is filled between the outer peripheral face of the shaft 2 and the inner peripheral face of the sleeve 3.
