PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll which is improved in the suction performance of liquid from a surface to be cleaned, and can keep a liquid removing function for a long period of time by being elastically deformed. SOLUTION: The roll 1 is used for removing, squeezing out, and cleaning moisture, an oil component, or a liquid of a chemical component or the like adhering to the surface to be cleaned of a steel plate, a non-ferrous metal plate, a resin plate, or a filmy material. The roll 1 comprises a roll part 2 and a pedestal 3, the roll part 2 has a roll piece 4 formed on the external peripheral surface of the pedestal 3, the roll part 2 is formed of nonwoven fabric, and at least one of fibers which constitute the nonwoven fabric has a hollow part or a longitudinal cavity.
