PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device for a vehicle having the sound reducing effect larger than the conventional effect. SOLUTION: (1) This shift lever device 10 for the vehicle has a shift lever device body 20, a control lever 30 inserted into an opening 81 arranged in a floor body 80 of the vehicle, shift boots 40 having a boots side insertion hole 45 for inserting the control lever 30 and blocking up the opening 81 of the floor body 80, and seat rubber 50 having a rubber side insertion hole 54 for inserting the control lever 30 and arranged above the shift boots 40. (2) The rubber side insertion hole 54 is formed by arranging a slit extending on a moving locus of the control lever 30 in the seat rubber 30. (3) The seat rubber 50 has a rubber general surface part 51 and an inclined part 53 positioned in a peripheral edge part of the rubber side insertion hole 54 and inclined to the rubber general surface part 51.
