The unit (1) has a cartridge (3) shifted in a release opening position by pressures in a housing (2) and a step switching system (14) moved along from the position during opening and lifting of the cartridge. The switching system is arranged underneath an opening-lateral front wall of the cartridge adjacent to a cartridge valve tube. A sidewards projecting mouthpiece (10) runs from the switching system that is inserted in a mouthpiece-turned side of a housing boundary wall by an opening (16). The switching system is fastened to a counter bearing.
