The crate (10) has a rectangular base plate (20) and four side walls (30) that are pivoted between folded horizontal and expanded vertical positions at outer edges of the plate, where the crate is formed from plastic material i.e. polyethylene terephthalate material such as polyolefin. The individual wall is extended in its surface over a frame (40) at its ends directed vertically upwards in the expanded position. The frame is connected with the wall over hinge rails (34). The wall has a recess on its outer surface, where the frame is held form-fittingly in the recess in the folded position.
