<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for an optical pickup miniaturizing the optical pickup and securing sufficient mechanical strength. <P>SOLUTION: A noughly triangular opening 17 is formed in the predetermined position of a housing 11 directly below the mounting position of an objective lens actuator 12. This opening 17 is an actuator adjust hole for adjusting a position and tilting of the objective lens actuator 12. The corner of the triangular opening 17 is rounded. Thus, an opening area is more reduced to secure higher strength of the housing 11.
