COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND PERIPHERAL DEVICE TO BE USED FOR THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system using a card type storage medium having a physical structure requiring no storage control device mounted thereon as well as a data format structure which can achieve an extremely rigid security.

SOLUTION: On a peripheral device having a loading slot 16 for a detachable storage medium 11, an encrypting logical circuit for encrypting a data file to be written in the detachable storage medium 11 and a decrypting logical circuit for decrypting the encrypted data file read out from the detachable storage medium 11 are mounted. A secret key necessary for encryption and decryption is stored in a secret key medium 12 different from the data medium 11 and the peripheral device executes encryption/decryption by using the secret key.
