PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device which enables a door to be opened by an operation similar to an operation of a normal sliding door, and which prevents a folding door portion from coming into contact with a user. SOLUTION: This sliding door device 1 comprises a sliding door 3 which is arranged in an entrance, and a sliding frame member 2; and the sliding door 3 is split into a door-end door 31, an intermediate door 32 and a door-tail door 33. The door-end door 31 is arranged to move only in parallel with the traveling direction of the sliding door. The intermediate door 32, which is oscillatably connected to the door-end door 31 via an oscillating mechanism, can be housed in the door-tail door 33, the inside of which has a hollow structure. In the door-tail door 33, a leading end of an oscillating arm 4, which is elongated from a top surface of a door tail-side jamb 2a or a top surface of a frame material 2a' arranged in parallel with the jamb 2a, and a proper place on the top surface of the door-tail door are oscillatably and pivotally provided. The sliding door 3 is opened while being bent up to a maximum angle of 90°with respect to the traveling direction of the sliding door 3, along with the intermediate door 32 in association with the entry of the intermediate door 32 by a predetermined distance or longer.
