A cosmetic composition comprising the extract of Orostachys japonicus is provided to inhibit reactive oxygen as a major factor of skin aging, improve skin-moisturizing effects and reduce the skin irritation, so that the composition is useful for prevention of skin aging. A cosmetic composition for prevention of skin aging comprises 0.0001-10.00 wt.% of the extract of Orostachys japonicus which is prepared by extracting Orostachys japonicas with a solvent selected from (a) water, (b) C1-4 anhydrous or hydrous lower alcohol, (c) acetone, (d) ethyl acetate, (e) chloroform and (f)1,3-butylene glycol, and is formulated as solution, suspension, emulsion, paste, gel, cream, lotion, powder, soap, surfactant-containing cleansing, oil, powder foundation, emulsion foundation, wax foundation or spray. Further, the extract of Orostachys japonicus has an anti- oxidation property.
