Covering in the form of a mat or sheet (I), comprising (a) a knitted or woven base (7, 8) and (b) plastic foam covering (a), forming (c) rows of bead-shaped segments (1) with crosswise rows of narrower linking segments (2) and gaps between them, in which (d) the beads (1) show a contraction in size (5) between adjacent links (2), extending continuously from both sides over the top or bottom of the bead (1). An independent claim is included for a method for the production of (I) by coating plastic paste containing a blowing agent onto a base (7, 8) as above comprising rows of first threads (7) and rows of second threads (8) in which the space between (8) is 7-14 mm, and then foaming the plastic. |
