The invention relates to a brake control system (1) including a plurality of fluid channels (51,53,61-74) communicating from a hydraulic pressure source (41) to a reservoir (17) for controlling brake hydraulic pressures supplied to respective brake calipers (19a,19b) by a plurality of hydraulic pressure control valves (43) arranged in the respective fluid channels, wherein valve drive circuits (21) for controlling the hydraulic pressure control valves (43) are provided, two power relays (8,9) for supplying power are connected to the plurality of valve drive circuits (21) and when all hydraulic pressure control valves (43a,43b) arranged in one fluid channel are normally open valves which communicate the hydraulic pressure source (41) to the reservoir (17) when nonenergized, different power relays (8,9) are used for at least two valve drive circuits (21a,21b) in the valve drive circuit corresponding to all the hydraulic pressure control valves to thereby prevent a malfunction of one power relay from causing all brake hydraulic pressures to fall.
