An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and an assembly method thereof are provided to facilitate the assembly of a backlight unit by mounting a light emitting diode in a hard PCB(Printed Circuit Board) and not to use an FPCB(Flexible Printed Circuit Board) at the light emitting diode, consequently the work yield is improved and a manufacturing cost is saved. A liquid crystal display device comprises a light emitting part(141), a mold frame(150) and a main substrate(115). The light emitting part has an upper surface where at least one light emitting diode(143) is mounted, and a rear surface having a light emitting part substrate(142) formed with a second connection substrate(145). The light emitting part substrate and a light guide plate(140) are received in the mold frame. The main substrate is electrically connected with a liquid crystal panel(110), and formed with a connection pad(116) electrically connected with the second connection pad of the light emitting part substrate. The light emitting part substrate is constructed of a hard PCB(Printed Circuit Board). The mold frame includes a reflection sheet(153) placed at the lower side of a light guide plate and at the other side of the light emitting part substrate. A side light shielding member(120) is placed on the mold frame. |
