UP AND DOWNFLOW TWO STAGE FILTER

A two-stage type filtering apparatus is provided to improve the efficiency in filtration of raw water, by improving the structure of the filtering apparatus such that filtering units are disposed in parallel with each other. A first filtering unit(1) filters raw water through downward flowing. A storing unit(3) stores treated water, which is filtered by the first filtering unit. A second filtering unit(7) is disposed in parallel with the first filtering unit. The second filtering unit filters the treated water, which is inputted from the storing unit, through upward flowing. A purifying tank(5) receives and stores the treated water from the upward flowing and/or the downward flowing. Further, the first filtering unit contains a raw water storing tank and a first filter layer for removing foreign substance in raw water.
