Locomotor with an air compressing facility

The locomotive has a machine room and a compressed air supply system attached at a primary air line of a pneumatically operated brake system. The supply system has a compressor (13) i.e. lubricant-free compressor, for generating compressed air and an air-drying system (15) for drying the compressed air. The compressor and the air-drying system are arranged at subsurface. A condensate separator (17) is provided as a separate component of the air drying system. A noise protection device (21) is arranged outside the compressor transverse to a driving direction of the locomotive.
