A refrigerator is provided to minimize noise and vibration with manually operated ice dispensing structure and to easily vary damping force of a damper with a slot on a part of a cylinder for attenuating friction between a packing and the cylinder. A refrigerator comprises a duct cap(58), an opening and closing mechanism, a connecting rod(130), a packing holder(120), a packing(110), and a cylinder. The duct cap opens and closes an ice duct mounted in the refrigerator. The opening and closing mechanism is in connection with the duct cap for its opening and closing movement. The connecting rod is in connection with at least one of the duct cap or the opening and closing mechanism. The packing holder is in connection with the connecting rod, comprising an inner holder having a projecting connection part in connection with the connecting rod, and an outer holder having a packing in between the inner holder and having a through hole where the connection part penetrates therethrough. The packing, made of rubber material, is mounted onto the packing holder. The cylinder allows rectilinear reciprocation of the packing, having a slot(106) on a part of the periphery.
