<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having excellent uniformity of inter-substrate spacing. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 is furnished with color filter layers 18 having first to third color regions 15a to 15c, a plurality of spacers 17 and peripheral edge light shielding layers 16, in which the third color regions 15c are formed backward of the first and second color regions 15a and 15b; each of a plurality of the spacers 17 has a structure successively laminated with an intermediate layer consisting of the same material as the material of the color region 15c on the lowermost layer with at least either of the color regions 15a and 15b as the lowermost layer; and the uppermost layer consisting of the same material as the material of the light shielding layers 16 and the intermediate layers are all spaced from the color regions 15c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
