An apparatus and a method for measuring the stiffness of paper are provided to check the quality of the paper accurately and instantly to offer a feedback for paper-making fast during a paper-making process, thereby stabilizing the quality of the paper. A tension-regulating unit(100) has a driving roller(110) and a brake roller(120) to regulate the tension of paper. A crease-measuring unit(200) is installed on a movement line of the paper to measure a crease shape of the paper, which is tensioned by the tension-regulating unit. A tension-measuring unit(300) is installed on the movement line of the paper to measure the tension of the paper. A controller(400) is electrically connected to the crease-measuring unit and the tension-measuring unit, wherein the controller regulates the tension of the paper through the stiffness, which is calculated by the measured tension and crease shape of the paper. Further, the tension-measuring unit contains a gearing roller and a load cell. |
