摘要 An organic EL(Electroluminescence) device, a manufacturing method thererfor, and an electronic apparatus are provided to prevent a gas barrier layer from being cracked or peeled due to stress concentration by reinforcing the gas barrier layer with a peripheral seal layer. An organic EL device includes a device substrate(20A), a sealing substrate(31), and a peripheral sealing layer(33). The device substrate has a plurality of light emitting devices with an organic light emitting layer between a pair of electrodes. The sealing substrate is placed opposite the device substrate. The peripheral sealing layer is installed at a peripheral unit between the device substrate and the sealing substrate and fixes the device substrate and the sealing substrate. A electrode protecting layer(17) coats the light emitting device. The organic buffer layer(18) coats the electrode protecting layer. A gas barrier layer(19) coats the organic buffer layer and is wider than the organic buffer layer. The peripheral sealing layer is installed on an upper layer of the gas barrier layer. A peripheral end unit of the organic buffer layer is placed within width of the peripheral sealing layer.
