A data transmitting/receiving device and method in a multi-antenna system and a system for supplying the device and the method are provided to generate feedback information by extracting a channel state of grouped antennas, and to transmit the generated information to a transmitter, thereby reducing an amount of the feedback information. Channel quality information for each data stream transmitted according to each antenna group is obtained from a receiving signal(310). Maximum channel quality information, an antenna group index corresponding to the maximum channel quality information, rank information, and remaining channel quality information corresponding to the rank information are determined from the channel quality information obtained according to each antenna group(312-320). The determined information is transmitted to a transmitter as feedback information(322).
