A photosensitive resin composition for a liquid crystal display device is provided to realize excellent shelf stability and adhesion to an underlying substrate, such as a metal layer, semiconductor layer or protection layer forming a thin film transistor pattern, and to improve the quality in the subsequent etching and stripping steps. A photosensitive resin composition for a liquid crystal display device comprises: (a) 3-30 parts by weight of an alkali-soluble resin; (b) 1-10 parts by weight of a photosensitizer; (c) 0.01-1 parts by weight of a compound represented by the following formula 1; and (d) 59-95.99 parts by weight of an organic solvent. In formula 1, R1 is a C1-C12 alkyl group.
