A system and a method for providing a moving picture contents service are provided to enable an enterprise to reduce a database construction or management cost of a web server having a homepage by enabling a service server to store/provide the contents, and enable an enterprise to reduce a cost for contents production of the web server by providing the contents from various contents providers/uploaders contracted with the service server. A service server(120) stores moving picture contents produced at the inside or downloaded from the outside, and provides the contents according to an external request. A web server(110) has a homepage available in a user terminal(160,170) including a PC and a mobile terminal, transmits the contents produced at the inside or downloaded from the outside to the service server, and interconnects the homepage and the contents. The user terminal plays the contents by connecting to the homepage provided from the web server. The service server includes a service database having a contents database and a customer database, a contents storing part, and a format converter converting the contents stored in the contents storing part into a format playable in the user terminal.
