An image displayer and a method for changing a channel of the image displayer are provided to solve a problem that when a user views an analog channel, the user does not know about an equivalent digital channel, or should search and change the equivalent digital channel if ever. A broadcast signal including channel information is received(ST1). Channel information is extracted from the received broadcast signal(ST2). A type of a current channel is determined from the extracted channel information(ST3). If the current channel is an analog channel, its equivalent digital channel is searched(ST4). It is checked whether or not the equivalent digital channel exists(ST5). If the equivalent digital channel exists, the channel is changed to the equivalent digital channel(ST6).
