Relates to handles for vehicle boot covers or the like of the kind having combined therewith a key-operable lock of the barrel type and having also a pivoted cover-piece for enclosing the outer end of the lock barrel. According to the invention, attachment means for the cover-piece comprises a pivot post 12 formed on or secured to the cover-piece 11, a spring-loaded collar 13 slidable on the post and a hollow boss 6 on the handle 5 accommodating the barrel of the lock and being provided with a key-hole-shaped slot 8 into which the pivot post 12 can be inserted, the post being secured by engagement of the slidable collar 13 with a recess 10 in the inner side of the boss at one end of the slot 8. As shown, tapered ridges 9 formed beneath the parallel edges of the slot 8 terminate in the recess 10 at the smaller end of the slot, the collar 13 riding on the ridges 9, when the post is inserted through the larger end of the slot, until it engages the recess 10 under the action of spring 14. |
