<p>The invention relates to an inking roller (1) for an ink applying system of a printing machine. The inventive inking roller is rotatably mounted and comprises ink storing compartments in its outer surface (5). Said inking roller has a cavity (9) for storing ink and the outer surface of the inking roller comprises a plurality of openings that communicate with the cavity.
