摘要 A method for preparing an electrochemical catalyst for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is provided to realize high catalyst activity by causing a large amount of metal particles to be uniformly adsorbed onto a carrier, to reduce the use of a harmful solvent, and to avoid a need for hydrogen treatment at high temperature. A method for preparing an electrochemical catalyst for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprises the steps of: (A) mixing a carrier with a solvent and maximizing the specific surface area of the carrier by using high-output ultrasonic waves; (B) providing a precursor solution containing metal precursor ion-containing micelles by using a metal precursor and a surfactant, in a separate container; (C) introducing the precursor solution of step (B) into the carrier dispersion of step (A) under high-output ultrasonic waves to cause the micelles to be adsorbed onto the surface of the carrier; (D) introducing a reducing agent at 30-70 deg.C to generate metal particle nuclei; (E) terminating the high-output ultrasonic waves, and increasing the temperature to 80-100 deg.C to allow growth of the metal particles with a size of 2-5 nm; (F) quenching the metal particles; (G) washing the micelles surrounding the metal particles; and (H) drying the metal particles dispersed uniformly on the carrier.
